Laser engraving uses a high-powered laser to cut grooves into a chosen material, creating a desired image of design. Laser Engraving do not use ink like other printing methods, it uses laser technique. Laser engraving machines read vector files.

When you laser engrave or cut, your machine will cut the choose material using lines, and lines are used to form the shape of design, vector files are perfect because vector files are made of lines and shapes which can be scaled at any size.

Laser files are black and white, with fonts and shapes should be converted to objects, laser understand cut lines and engraving details in the design, there should not be open paths as well as overlapping paths because it will increase production time and sometime not engraved correctly

Overlapping Path View

This image clearly shows overlapping paths in outline view of vector file, this may create issue while cutting or engraving

Non-Overlapping Path View

This is properly vectorized image outline view. no overlapping paths, will cut or engrave propelry
